As a former Skiing magazine contributing editor and an avid ski historian, I plan to bring you the latest news from the wide world of skiing--the news the glossy magazines are afraid to
publish. News you can use to get the best deals on lift tickets, lodging, travel and
equipment.
People often ask me, "Ski Guy, you've skied all over the world and written hundreds of articles
about all these great places, so tell me, what's your favorite ski area?
"Hmm, good question. Every ski area has its strengths and weaknesses. I haven't had a
"Come on Ski Guy, you're being politically correct. What places have you really enjoyed the most?"
After a moment's reflection, I reply, "well, where do I start? Over the decades, I've logged
literally thousands of great ski days throughout Eastern North America, from Mont Tremblant
in Quebec to Massanutten jn Virginia. I've been heli-skiing in Valdez, Alaska, savoring
the dry powder of Deer Valley, Utah, enjoying the California ski scene in Tahoe, back country
treking in the Arctic tundra and cruising with friends in Engleberg, Switzerland. It's all good.
I guess I enjoy the variety that each ski area offers. How's that for an answer?"

"Depends on what you're looking for, who you're bringing along and what your budget is.
