VERMONT SKIER NUMBERS UP

June 10th 2010 14:29
In spite of an up and down winter, weather wise, skier
visits to Vermont resorts were up by 1.4 percent. The
Vermont Ski Area Associations released the final tally
of skier visits for the 2009-10 season as 4,125.082.

The rise in skier visits is significant during a down economy
with neighboring New England states noting a slight decrease.

A number of years ago the marketing gurus of the Vermont
Ski Area Associations had a glorified campaign going to
reach the five million skier visits mark. That hasn't happened
yet.

If this coming season is a heavy natural snow year, perhaps

the skier visit level will approach the elusive five million
mark.
