TWO RECENT SKI FATALITIES

February 26th 2010 12:08
Two skiers died while skiing over the last two weeks. The most recent
incident claimed the life of freeskiing competitor and ski movie
performer, C.R. Johnson at Squaw Valley, California on Wednesday.

Johnson fell while skiing through the rocks at Squaw Valley.
He was wearing a helmet.

Last week, a thirty-three year-old male skier was killed while skiing the
North American trail at Vermont's Stratton Mountain. The trail is rated
most difficult. According to reports, the man inadvertently left the trail
and crashed into the trees. He was not wearing a helmet. The cause

of death was cardiac arrest which could had resulted from a chest high,
high speed impact with a tree.

Most skier deaths involve expert level male skiers who are traveling at
a high rate of speed.
