SUNDAY RIVER BIRTHDAY PARTY SATURDAY
December 16th 2009 22:01
Maine's Sunday River Resort is celebrating its 50 years in the
skiing and snowboarding world with a huge birthday party this
Saturday. During the day there will be historic ski tours around
the mountain complex followed by one of the largest fireworks
display ever shot skyward in the state of Maine.
Apres-ski will feature a giant food and drink festival featuring the
fare and libations of 10 local restaurants with "One Sweet World,"
a Dave Matthews tribute bank cranking out dance tunes.
Last but not least, a "Viking Look-alike" contest will be staged
and judged in male and female categories. Winners will receive
a 2010-11 season pass.
On Sunday morning, there will be a massive pancake breakfast
served in the Barker Mountain Base Lodge to help relieve those
lingering hangovers.
