SUN VALLEY'S NEW GONDOLA
September 21st 2009 12:08
Sun Valley skiers will be riding uphill in style this winter
with the addition of the new Roundhouse Gondola.
The eight passenger Doppelmayr gondola climbs
2000 vertical feet in eight minutes.
On cold windy days, riding inside an enclosed gondola
cabin sure beats freezing while riding uphill on a
traditional chairlift.
The new Roundhouse House gondola boards
at the base of Bald Mountain's River Run trail
and terminates at the Roundhouse Restaurant.
On the way up, riders will certainly appreciate
the stellar views of the surrounding mountains.
In an era where ski areas are cutting costs or
even closing up shop, it is refreshing to see
a ski area reinvesting in its infrastructure for the
benefit of its valued customers.
