SPRING SKIING DEALS ARE STARTING
February 22nd 2010 22:54
Every season it starts about now. Ski resorts know that their
perishable chief product, snow, will be gone in a matter of months.
What to do?
Why cut prices and offer creative deals of course, so that people
will still book ski vacation packages.
For example, Steamboat Springs Resort in Colorado has conjured
up a "Olympian Package" with an "Olympian Card." It has absolutely
nothing to do with the Olympics, rather it's a vacation deal package
that was in search of a new moniker.
Here's the way it works: For those who book a three night or more
ski and stay package, through the resort, they'll knock 20 percent
off the rack rate through April 1.
The "Olympian Card," they'll give you with their "Olympian Package"
promotion is good for substantial discounts throughout the resort
on rentals, retail purchases and dining.
This is just one example. Most ski resorts want to increase destination
business for March and April. In exchange for booking a spring skiing
getaway now, many major resorts will offer you lower prices and other
perks.
