SKIER NUMBERS UP FOR YEAR

Overall skier visits to ski resorts in the United States are
up by 4.2 percent for the 2009-10 season. It was the second
best season, skier-visit wise, on record according to the
Kotte National End of Season Survey.
The Pacific Southwest ski area region showed the greatest
gain in skier numbers, up 15 percent over the previous season.
Snowfall wise, the Southeast reported a whopping 98 percent
increase over the previous season. Nationwide, it is estimated
that ski resorts had 59.7 million skier visits this past season.
A skier-visit, is a one day visit to a ski area and includes season
pass holders.
