SKIER LOST IN SNOW
February 2nd 2011 12:07
Well, it's happened yet again. Another unprepared skier spent
a damn cold night in the snow-filled woods off the backside
of Vermont's Killington Mountain this week.
Seems a 45 year-old man from NEW JERSEY decided to hike
up the Catwalk trail in search of uncut snow to ski down on.
Unfortunately, the dude followed a set of footprints in the snow
which lead well away from the main trail network. Low and
behold, by the time he realized his mistake, darkness was
falling, the snow was getting deeper and he was getting colder
and colder.
After a frigid enchanted evening in the woods, this guy continued
on his trek down through the wilderness until he found a
snowmobile trail.
Frost bitten, exhausted, and hungry, he struggled on until a
Vermont game warden found him.
Mr. New Jersey will be charged $$$ for the back country rescue
under Vermont law.
