SKI HALL OF FAME INDUCTEES
October 21st 2010 15:40
Before too many more decades go by, almost every skier and
snowboarder will be nominated to one ski hall of fame or another,
either national, state or regional.
This year's slate of inductees to the U.S. Ski and Snowboard
Hall of Fame include two ski racers, two big mountain (aka
"extreme skiers") skiers, one paralympian racer and a major
ski resort owner.
The late big mountain skier, Shane McConkey is in "the hall"
as well as the former bad boy skier, Mohawk haircut dude, Glen Plake.
Bobby Cochran, ski racer champion of the early '70s, joins his Olympian
sisters Barbara and Marilyn in the hall. Current ski racer, Daron Rahles
also made the selection cuts.
In the sport builder category, Sun Valley Resort owner, Earl Holding
got the nod.
The United States Ski and Snowboard Hall of Fame and Museum is
located in Ishpemig, Michigan.
