SKI CLUB CARVES OUT CANCER
May 11th 2011 14:28
Rather than simply have a good time together, as ski club
members throughout the world usually do, the Flying Dutchmen
Ski Club of Reading, Pennsylvania hosted two fundraisers to
benefit cancer research this season.
Dubbed "Carving Out Cancer," the Flying Dutchmen members
staged a Tuesday evening NASTAR race at the Bear Creek
Mountain Resort. Racers kicked in US$5 for two race runs or
US$10 for unlimited runs. Total funds raised during an evening
of spirited racing was US440.
They also put on a Bake Sale which raised US$441 for cancer
research.
Worldwide, ski clubs can be a powerful fundraising tool to benefit
worthy charities.
