OKEMO GIVES THOUSANDS TO UNITED WAY
May 4th 2010 12:22
Vermont's Okemo ski area recently donated US$6,404.20
to the United Way fund, a relief agency. The mountain's
employees voluntarily contributed US$3,202.35 which
was matched by the ski area.
The funds raised were evenly distributed between the
Black River Good Neighbor Services and the Springfield
Family Center, local charity organizations which serve
individuals and families in need.
Most ski areas throughout the U.S. donate funds to charitable
organizations on an annual basis. They also tend to stage
charitable fund raising events on their slopes during the season.
