NY STATE 4TH IN SKIER NUMBERS

July 27th 2010 13:32
New York State ski areas racked up an impressive 4,118,000
skier and tubing visits this past season, up one percent
from the previous season. What may surprise many
people is that New York had more skier visits than Utah!

New York ski area owners have long nurtured day and
weekend ski trippers. Lift ticket rates are relatively
affordable compared to big mountain destination resorts
and travel by roadways is more convenient than dealing
with horrendous airlines.

Over the years, the quality of the New York ski experience
has greatly improved with powerful snowmaking plants,

extensive grooming and high-speed lifts, including two
gondolas.

New York ranks fourth behind Colorado, California and Vermont
in the national skier visit numbers game.
