NORTHERN NEW ENGLAND HIT WITH SNOW
November 23rd 2011 17:23
The first major snowfall of the season struck northern New
England ski areas on Wednesday, just in time for the Thanksgiving
Weekend.
Areas in central Vermont were hit with up to 10 inches of natural
with more snow still falling as of 12:15 EST. Currently operating
areas include Killington and Stowe with Okemo and Sugarbush
expecting to kickoff on Thanksgiving.
In New Hampshire, Loon Mountain is rockin and rolling with eight inches
of freshies. Bretton Woods is looking good for this early in the
season with Cannon, Cranmore and Waterville vying to open
on their heels.
Downeast in Maine, don't you know?; Sugarloaf and Sunday River are
spinning lifts for this coming holiday weekend.
It goes without saying that all major ski areas are blowing
machine-made snow, round-the-clock when temperature
and dewpoint windows permit.
Looks like a great loooong weekend ahead for chowing-down,
football, and early-season skiing and riding!
