NEW LIFT FOR BURKE MOUNTAIN

September 14th 2011 14:42
Vermont's Burke Mountain is making a major improvement
this summer: a brand new detachable quad chairlift is
currently being installed.

The new Mid Burke Express lift will cut travel time, from
just below the Mid Burke Lodge to the summit, from 14
down to seven minutes. Nice, on freezing cold days.
More ski time, less hang time up in the air being blasted
by the elements.

What's cool is the new lift will be powered by Burke's own
wind turbine. This green energy machine is predicated to
provide up to 20 percent of Burke's energy needs.

Also going in this summer and fall are five new intermediate

and expert level trails.

Burke Mountain is located in Vermont's Northeast Kingdom,
not far from the border with Quebec, Canada and New Hampshire.
