MUNICH BID FOR '18 WINTER OLYMPICS GATHERING STEAM

May 13th 2010 12:24
Not since Hitler was in power has there been so much
excitement about Germany hosting a Winter Olympic
Games. As the International Olympic Committee's decision
date for awarding the 2018 Winter Olympic Games nears,
Munich's environmentally-oriented bid is gathering steam.

Spearheaded by the legendary Willy Bogner, Jr and figure
skating Olympic champion Katarina Witt, the Munich bid
is sponsored by the APA Group, Autobus Oberbayern, Dress
Sommer and Sporthaus Schuster.

If selected to host the '18 Games, Munich will be a two-park,
two-village concept with an Ice Park in the city recycling some of

the venues from the '72 Summer Olympics and the Snow Park
in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, the site of the 1936 Winter Olympics.
