MT HUTT OPENS SATURDAY
June 11th 2010 13:47
New Zealand's Mount Hutt is blasting snow in preparation
for Saturday's opening day. Up to a one meter base
awaits skiers and riders.
Tomorrow will also be an historic day. It will be the first
time "mypass" holders will be able to use their new
radio frequency lift tickets. The new electronic tickets
are simply stowed in any pocket. When passing through
an ID reading point, the RF system will either say "yeh"
or "ney" if the pass is valid or not.
Beginners will find more terrain available to them this season
along with a cover for the Magic Carpet. Meanwhile freeskiers
and riders will enjoy upgraded terrain parks.
