MILLION DOLLAR ZIPLINES FOR GUNSTOCK
May 24th 2011 13:56
New Hampshire's Gunstock Mountain ski area is rolling the
investment dice by installing US$2.1 million in ziplines, ladders
and obstacles high in the trees this summer.
If all goes according to plan, their Aerial Treetops Adventure
Course and Mountain Segway Tours will open to the public
on Memorial Day weekend.
In July, an eight zipline tour, dubbed the ZipTour is expected to open.
When completed, this attraction will feature 3,900-ft ziplines, the
longest in the U.S. Maximum airborne travel speed is estimated
in 56 mph.
Ziplines for ski areas is the latest "big thing" for summer operations,
particularly in the northeastern United States.
