For one reasonable price, the Michigan Snowsports Industries
Association's "White Gold Card," is valid for one lift ticket at
28 participating ski areas throughout the state. That's 28
days of skiing and riding for only US$189 or a mere US$6.75
per day---that's what it cost to ski in the mid 1960s!
If the low price for lift tickets wasn't enough, the card
also is valid for one free ski tune-up during the season.
The MSIA says the first person this coming season to ski or ride
at all 28 ski areas and return the used lift tickets to the association
will receive a free White Gold Card for the 2010-11 season.
For those who want to learn to ski or snowboard this winter,
MSIA has a "Discover Michigan Skiing" program. For US$20,
voucher holders receive a learn to cross country ski package
which includes rental equipment, lesson and trail fee.
For alpine skiers, US$30 along with the voucher buys a learn
to ski lesson, rental equipment and a beginner area lift ticket.
A snowboarding package is available for US$40.
