HEAVY SNOW HITS THE ALPS
December 3rd 2009 14:00
European ski resort operators and innkeepers received an early
"White Christmas" present this week. In the Swiss Alps, close to
three feet of snow blanketed Engleberg over the past few days.
Over in Austria, eight to 20 inches of natural snow have been
reported by resorts this week.
In Spain's Pyrenees, snow depths are over five feet on the higher
elevation slopes. While in the French Alps, Val Thorens reported
that over 15 inches of snow has fallen in recent days.
For those interested in booking a European ski vacation the best
values can be found prior to Christmas week and after April 1.
