HEAVY EARLY SNOWFALL IN BRITISH COLUMBIA
November 3rd 2009 21:44
Heavy than expected snowfall in British Columbia
and Alberta has pushedup the opening day for at
least one resort, and stranded one helicopter on
a ski run.
Sun Peaks resort has announced that due to the recent heavier than
expected natural snowfalls it will open one week earlier than expected.
Opening day is now scheduled for November 14.
Over at Big White Ski Resort, a Bell helicopter flying cell phone
repair crews in was stranded on a ski run after the resort due
to heavy snows. The cell phone repair crew had to be transported
out by the local fire department.
Hopefully, the early snowfall in British Columbia is a harbinger of more
to come as we enter this North American Winter Olympics season.
