HEAVENLY'S HALF PIPE RETURNS
December 5th 2011 17:31
California's Heavenly Valley ski resort has decreed their popular
18-ft half-pipe will return this season, although not for a while yet.
If all goes well, on Martin Luther King Weekend the resort will
drop the ropes on the new, improved pipe.
This season, Heavenly has teamed up with Snow Park
Technologies--the X Games/Dew Tour people--to build the
new pipe properly.
The pipe is being built on the lower portion of the High Roller
trail where, theoretically, it will "soften evenly in the sun,"
the resort predicts.
In any event, once open, half-pipe spinners will be treated to
stellar views of Lake Tahoe's rich hues of blue while airborne.
