Hawaii does have a ski club, the Hawaii Ski Club has been
around since 1952. Although they no longer run trips
up the Maunakey Volcano at 13,000-ft for safety and
environmental reasons, they do lots of other cool stuff.
They run a couple of reasonably priced group ski and
ride trips per season. Their next one coming up is to
Big Sky in Montana beginning January 27.
On November 12, the club is running a popular Chili
Cookoff at the Wai'alae Recreation Center, not too
far from downtown Honolulu.
On Thanksgiving Day, club members with be helping the
Salvation Army feed those in need at the Balisdell
Center.
In the past, the 100 plus member club has run ski/ride
trips to Japan and New Zealand. Everyone is welcome
to join the Hawaii Ski Club.
