GET READY FOR SKIING, SOUTHERN STYLE
November 1st 2009 14:08
Even though the weather is hardly conducive for skiing south of
Washington D.C., these days, one stalwart North Carolina ski
area plans to open in a few weeks, thanks to snowmaking.
Ski Beech, located high in the Smokey Mountains of North
Carolina has just been the finishing touches on its Oz Quad
chairlift conversion project with the installation of its new
backup aux engine. The revamped lift will help move
skiers and riders up the hill at greater speed to reduce
lift lines.
Also new this season is a terrain park, seasonal locker room,
upgraded rental facilities and a new retail shop in the View
Haus Cafeteria.
If you're North Carolina skier or rider, here's a few Ski Beech
lift ticket deal days to put on your calendar: "Half-price Tuesdays,"
"Bargain $25 Wednesdays," and "$20 Thursday Ladies Days."
If the weather cooperates Ski Beech plans to open its lifts
and slopes on November 21. Not bad for a southern ski
area.
