For NYC metro area skiers and riders, Plattekill Mountain in the
Catskill Mountains has launched a deal to offer you a free lift
ticket on Sundays, IF.........now here's the Big IF part:
You book a Saturday night stay at one of the area's lodging
establishments that partners with Plattekill Mountain and
purchase a regularly priced lift ticket on Saturday.
It's not a bad deal if you're in the market for staying over
Saturday night. The benefit to the mountain is that by
enticing you to enjoy their operation on Sunday as well
as Saturday, they keep you away from their nearby
competitors.
Call it a loyalty marketing play that benefits the customer,
the ski area and the lodging establishment.
Plattekill Mountain is also offering a string of US$15 lift ticket
days this season: January 8 (first 100 people to purchase a
ticket) January 27 through the 29th, February 5 (1st 100)
and March 5 (1st 100).
The mountain also juiced their snowmaking firepower this
season by installing 30 new tower guns. Opening day
is cued up for December 12
