Let the ski season begin. Four ski areas, in three western
states are open for the season: A-Basin and Loveland in Colorado,
Boreal in California, and of all places, the Las Vegas Ski and Snowboard
Resort, 45 minutes drive time from downtown Vegas.
Of course, you'll find one trail open at these early bird openers.
But, the lifts are running and there will be snow underneath your feet.
Good enough for early season training to get the ski and ride legs back.
In the northeast, temperatures are predicted to dip down below thirty
degrees in the Adirondacks, and northern New England with snow
flurries in the forecast.
We should see at least one eager resort--probably one with an
extensive fan snowgun arsenal like Mount Snow--open by late October.
