DRIVE THE LOON MOUNTAIN TRAIN
August 8th 2010 12:24
Ever have a "burning" desire to engineer a ski area's train?
Say what?
That's right, you can learn to be the the engineer of New
Hampshire's Loon Mountain steam train this summer
and fall. You'll spend a full day learning how to stoke
the wood-burning German locomotive, running the
controls and of course, taking her for a spin down the
tracks.
For US$100, up to five participants will be taught how
to safely run the train on the short stretch of tracks which
connects the ski area's two base lodges, and the mountain
will throw in lunch.
Dates for the program are August 20, September 10 and
October 8. Reservations are essential. Students must
be 18 or older.
Kinda of a fun thing to do a ski area in the off season,
Certainly different.
