BIG TUPPER, BIG TROUBLES

June 14th 2011 14:02
There's trouble brewing in the Adirondack environmentalist air
for Big Tupper ski area. This recently revived from the dead
mid-sized ski area is under the auspices of a grandiose, four
season real estate development project currently calling itself
the Adirondack Club & Resort.

This corporate entity has massive build-out plans under review
by New York State's infamous Adirondack Park Agency--an agency
noted for its bloated, paper shuffling bureaucratic bumbling and
incompetency.

In the latest round of permit hearings, the Protect the Adirondacks

environmental activist group challenged the Adirondack Club &
Resort's sales estimates for vacation home sales in light of the
current economic climate.

The permitting process is coming down to the final rounds. Any
number of challenges could squash the largest project the
inept Adirondack Park Agency has ever attempted to approve.
