It's almost that time of the ski season again when the snow
is in various melt-down stages--talking about New Zealand
here--and ski areas stage all kinds of wacky events to keep
people interested.
At The Remarkables, a Spring Carnival is planned for October
2 through Monday, October 4. There will be plenty of live,
outdoor decking it music of course, plus traditional pond skimming,
face painting and the usual bikini dancing debauchery sort of thing
going on.
Sunday brings two exciting races to the slopes: a Chinese Downhill
race--where dozens of people start at the same time, on the
same course--followed by a Dummy Race. Bring a dummy, set
it on skis and hope it wins.
Anyways, spring carnivals are usually good for lots of laughs
and to sweeten the pot, The Remarkables Lodge is offering
revelers three nights with dinner for the price of two!
