99 CENT SKIING & RIDING

February 1st 2011 22:42
What's a stinking 99 cents get you these days? A cup of
coffee if you're real lucky or better yet a day of skiing and
riding with rental equipment and lessons at one ski area.

Last month, Asessippi Ski Area--no, not Mississippi--ran
an experimental program where people would get rental gear,
a beginner lift ticket, instruction and even a helmet for a mere
99 cents.

And that's in Canadian dollars! Response was good to
Asessippi's experiment.

So where is this place. Yeah, it's way out in deepest,
darkest Manitoba, Inglis to be exact but this place has

a lot going for it.

For one thing they allow snow bikes on the lifts. How many
ski areas do you know permit them?

And with a Powder Keg Pub in the base lodge, a good time
can be had here, even for 99 cents.
