Just in time to blast snow in preparation for the rapidly approaching
ski season, Cranmore Mountain installed 80 new tower snow
guns on major routes down the mountain.
The new guns are capable of making snow at an ambient air
temperature of approximately four degrees higher than
older snow guns. This should mean an earlier opening
date for the North Conway mountain and faster recovery
time from adverse skiing weather conditions.
This season, Cranmore has invested nearly US$500,000
on ski area improvements. Not bad, after a less than stellar
season last year.
