4 DEAD IN VAL D'ISERE AVALANCHE

Four skiers were reported buried alive in a 265 meter-wide
avalanche that swept down the pointe nord of Grand Vallon
in Val d'Isere, France yesterday at 10:30 a.m. local time.
A group of seven set out for a morning off-piste ski with a
guide that triggered the deadly avalanche at the 2800 meter
level. The slide was an estimated 765 meters long.
Three skiers were rescued and are recovering.
