Skiing Reviews - November 2011

For a virtually bankrupt country, Italy is doing quite well
for itself in the new ski lift department this season. How's
two new aerial tramways, a gondola, a detachable quad
and a fixed-grip quad chairlift sound for this season?

No doubt about it, Italians know how to have fun. Now for
Christmas all they need is the goose to lay the golden
egg to save their country from bankruptcy.

Their most spectacular new lift is the revolving 80-passenger
aerial tramway running up the Italian side of Mont Blanc.
Not only does this lift have floor-to-ceiling glass, heat and a

sound system but what's a ski lift without video screens
in the cabin to keep passengers entertained while heading
up the mountain?

Well, it appears federal government bankruptcy can't be all
bad, at least not for skiers and riders. As U.S. political
pundit Pat Buchanan said last week, "if Obama wins the
election we'll be Italy!"

NEW HAMPSHIRE HOLIDAY 2-PACK

November 28th 2011 16:00
If you're planning on skiing or riding during the upcoming holiday
weeks, look into SkiNH's Holiday 2-pack ticket deal. Purchasers
can choose between 21 of New Hampshire's ski areas with
ticket prices ranging from US$20-66.

That's a savings of US$11-20 per ticket, depending upon the ski
areas chosen. The 2-pack tickets are fully transferable so they
can be given as gifts are kept for yourself. They're valid
everyday this season at your chosen areas.

The one caveat is: you must split each 2-pack between two
different ski areas--no multi-day at one area. However, if you

purchased two or three Holiday 2-pack offers, you could mix
and match.

Holiday 2-packs are available now and can be be purchased
by calling (800) 887-5454. Detailed info can be found at:

NY SKI BLACK FRIDAY WEEKEND DEALS

November 25th 2011 15:00
Not to be left out in the shopping frenzy cold, two New York
ski areas are offering Black Friday weekend deals.

Gore Mountain is slashing the price of their adult tickets
this weekend by US$20 for those who show up at the ticket
booth with two items of non-perishable food--cans, pasta,
whatever.

Gore received over 10 inches of freshies to top their two miles
of snowmaking based terrain.

In the Catskills, mighty Hunter Mountain is running a Black
Friday sale on their website: eski.huntermtn.com. Bargain
hunters can score a US$50 Hunter gift card for only US$40
and purchase one of their 3x Cards for US$119 with a US$20
gift card thrown in as a bonus.

Looks like a good kickoff to the season in N.Y. with natural
snow and favorable temps for snowmaking.
