SKI FREE AT ELDORA!

February 22nd 2011 23:29
In the latest round of ski area marketing schemes, Colorado's
Eldora Mountain has come up with an extremely consumer-
friendly deal. How's free skiing and riding sound to ya?

Here's the deal: show up at Eldora Mountain's ticket window
with a USED lift ticket from any ski area, anywhere in the
world. In exchange you get a free day of unrestricted skiing
and riding.

After that, if you like the place, they'll sell you an unrestricted
season pass--valid for the rest of this season-for a mere
US$99.

Not bad huh?

Here at Skiing Reviews we love mountains that come up

with affordable skiing and riding deals.

BUSY U.S. HOLIDAY WEEK AHEAD

February 14th 2011 22:34
If you're planning a ski trip to any major ski area in
the United States, February 17 through February 27,
you'd better book reservations sooner rather than
later. With recent heavy natural snow falls, business
volume is predicated to be greater than average for
the traditional school vacation weeks, combined
with the three-day Presidents' Day national holiday
weekend.

Business volume at all major Vermont ski areas is
picking up the week of 14 February and the trend is
expected to accelerate through the end of the month.

SKIER LOST IN SNOW

February 2nd 2011 12:07
Well, it's happened yet again. Another unprepared skier spent
a damn cold night in the snow-filled woods off the backside
of Vermont's Killington Mountain this week.

Seems a 45 year-old man from NEW JERSEY decided to hike
up the Catwalk trail in search of uncut snow to ski down on.

Unfortunately, the dude followed a set of footprints in the snow
which lead well away from the main trail network. Low and
behold, by the time he realized his mistake, darkness was
falling, the snow was getting deeper and he was getting colder
and colder.

After a frigid enchanted evening in the woods, this guy continued
on his trek down through the wilderness until he found a
snowmobile trail.

Frost bitten, exhausted, and hungry, he struggled on until a
Vermont game warden found him.

Mr. New Jersey will be charged $$$ for the back country rescue
under Vermont law.
