VAMPIRE BILL-THE-SNOWMAKER
November 24th 2010 18:45
For those of you not tuned into the skiing and snowboarding
world, snowmaking is a necessary and at times, unpleasant
chore which most be done for ski areas in most weather
climes to operate successfully.
Making snow, high upon the mountain, is usually performed
well after sunset when temperatures drop and the wind picks
up enough to well, freeze every little part of your body to the
point of pain and cursing.
"Why did I ever take this stupid job!!!"
However, there are some who thrive in these unpleasant nocturnal
conditions. One of them is a rather different dude who goes by the
moniker of Vampire Bill.
Vampire Bill currently works the nightshift at Vermont's Bolton
Valley Resort. His previous employment history is rather sketchy
to say the least. Some say, somewhere in eastern Europe others
claim he's on the lame from the law.
No one knows for sure. The ski area doesn't care. Vampire Bill
is the best snowmaker they've had in decades. He shows up at sunset,
works hard, doesn't bitch about the weather and clocks out a half
hour before dawn.
