SUN PEAKS RESORT READY TO ROCK
September 30th 2009 16:16
With a new heli-skiing partner, brand spanking new extended stay
lodge, a shin slapping Irish Pub, a Winter Wine Festival and the
rather bizarro "Snowshoe Golf" course set to open, Sun Peaks
Resort in the Canadian Rockies is ready to rock this winter!
If the lift served powder skiing and riding weren't enough, resort
guests can book a day of heli-skiing with shuttle service to
Mike Wiegele's helipad. Guests will get in three to five runs
and then be shuttled back to Sun Peaks by Olympian Nancy
Greene's shuttle service in time for a hearty dinner.
Those with a craving for golf can don snowshoes and head
out for an afternoon round on the new Snowshoe Golf Course.
Rentals of all equipment to play will be available on site.
Apres-ski, the new Morrisey's Public House Irish pub in the
resort village promises to be "a good time was had by all,"
type of place.
For those interested in staying longer than a few days,
the new Kookaburra Lodge offers affordable residential
apartments in the heart of the village.
Don't forget the expanded Winter Wine Festival slated for
your sipping enjoyment January 16-24, 2010. The festival
features the ice wines and varietals produced by the renowned
Okanagan Valley wineries of British Columbia.
